“I was on my way home from work one day. A guy ran a red light. I was in my truck. I couldn’t stop, and I slammed right into him. It was a pretty hard hit and I got hurt in the accident. I know the first thing is, all I remember is I could not breathe. There were a lot of people helping me that got me into the ambulance, and then I went to the hospital.
I was kind of in a daze, and I was looking up lawyers, and I found Paul Wingo. I thought, “You know what? Let me try this one,” because it said 24-hour access. At the time, it was after work, it was after hours. And I was like, “You know what? I need to call somebody now.” So I called him. It was late, and he responded immediately.
So I just felt that y’all actually cared about what happened to me. Always calling me, “How’re the doctor’s visits going? How are you feeling? How’s your family feeling?” Just asking me questions that normally you wouldn’t think people would ask. They didn’t care. But actually, they cared about how I was feeling. She’s constantly checking up on me, and every time something happened, if there was something going on with the case, she would contact me. She would email me. I had an issue with my hours at work. I was working very late, and I couldn’t talk on the phone, and she actually waited till my lunch times or my break time or after work to get in touch with me.
I think that had I not called, I would never be here at this point, and I would not have recovered anything. I would have had tons of medical bills, because he fought really hard, to the point where he was taking him straight to court.
Everything is great. Everything is great. Especially that I have a settlement check, so that’s even better.”
