New episodes of “Here Comes the Judge: Best Courtroom Practices for Dallas Judges” will be distributed to DTLA members before appearing on other online platforms. The insightful series provides an inside look at courtroom preferences, procedures, and best practices when appearing before Dallas judges, as told by the judges themselves.
In the series’ first interview, Mr. Wingo and respected Dallas Judge Martin Hoffman of the 68 th District Court cover a wide range of practical, useful topics for any attorney appearing in the judge’s court. Their discussion includes advice on establishing courtroom control, earning respect through actions, effectively communicating with the court, and more tips for success.
“Judge Hoffman has spent years presiding over important cases and helping lawyers better represent their clients. We are thrilled he is the first judge to participate in the DTLA series,” says Mr. Wingo. “We have several more interviews lined up, and I can’t wait for our members and others to see what’s coming up.”
Each installment of “Here Comes the Judge” includes numerous tips on preparing for court and practicing before each judge, including their preferences on courtroom etiquette, scheduling conferences, motions practice, do’s and don’ts, and more.
“We are excited to make this great resource available to our members and other members of the Dallas legal community, says DTLA President Rachel Montes of the Montes Law Group. “Every lawyer can benefit from hearing firsthand what works and what doesn’t in a specific judge’s court.”
