DALLAS – The Dallas plaintiffs’ personal injury and wrongful death law firm Hamilton Wingo, LLP is proud to announce the promotion of Damian Williams to Partner based on his success for clients, commitment to justice, and leadership in exemplifying the firm’s values.
“Damian is one of the top up-and-coming lawyers in Dallas and the entire state,” Hamilton Wingo’s Chris Hamilton. “He is dedicated to practicing law the right way – by caring about our clients, putting them first, believing in their cause, and preparing for trial every step of the way.”
Mr. Williams is an experienced trial lawyer who began his career representing the community as a prosecutor with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. At Hamilton Wingo, he helps people and their families in all types of cases involving car and truck wrecks, dangerous construction sites, unsafe premises, and other meritorious cases involving serious injury or death caused by negligence.
Mr. Williams was the lead trial lawyer for the Hamilton Wingo trial team that won a $1.2 million verdict in Waco earlier this year for the elderly parents of a man who died after a wreck with an 18-wheeler. In addition to overcoming a police report that relied on a false eyewitness account wrongly blaming his client for running a red light, Mr. Williams secured the sizeable award despite the victim’s advanced age and lengthy roster of prior traffic tickets.
Last year, Mr. Williams helped Hamilton Wingo win the largest uninsured (UIM) motorist verdict in Texas. He represented a woman who spent years unsuccessfully trying to collect her policy benefits from State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company after being rear-ended by a semi-truck driver who had no insurance. The Denton County jury awarded the woman more than $500,000, including attorneys’ fees, for a total recovery exceeding the UIM policy limits.
Earlier this year, Mr. Williams became one of fewer than 2.5 percent of the eligible attorneys across the state to earn a spot on the 2023 Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. He was selected as one of the leading young lawyers in Texas for serious personal injury lawsuits.
