BIOGRAPHY

Kristi Wood is a proven trial lawyer with over a decade of experience in all aspects of personal injury and wrongful death law.

In 2023, Kristi helped lead a Hamilton Wingo trial team to victory with a $1.2 million verdict for the family of a man who died after a violent collision with an 18-wheeler. The case faced many obstacles from the start, including a difficult venue for wrongful death claims, the victim’s advanced age, and his history of traffic tickets. The matter was further complicated by a police report that wrongly blamed the victim for the crash based on an eyewitness report that was proven to be wrong.

Before joining Hamilton Wingo, Kristi worked as a personal injury attorney at two respected Dallas law firms. She started her career as a defense attorney working on behalf of insurance companies, which gives her unique insight into how insurance companies evaluate and manage claims. She now devotes herself to helping people who have been injured or suffered the loss of a family member because of someone else’s negligence or wrongdoing.

Kristi has successfully represented clients from all walks of life in cases involving defective medical devices, truck and automobile accidents, and unsafe business locations and worksites. She is licensed to practice in all Texas state and federal courts in addition to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Kristi is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, and Texas Trial Lawyers Association. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Jonathan Wood, and two children, Caroline and Samuel. When she is away from work, Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, and traveling.
